What’s your love language for your family?

Show love by protecting those who matter the most.

You’ve probably read or heard about the five love languages through which people give and receive love: Words of affirmation, Physical touch, Acts of service, Receiving gifts, and Quality time. While every individual may express love in different ways, one thing we hope everyone remembers is to show love not only to romantic partners, but also to the people who matter most: your family.

How do you give your family the love they deserve? Here are some ways you can show your love:

  1. Words of Affirmation. Words of encouragement, reminders of concern, positive acknowledgement, either written or verbal, can hit it home for your loved ones.  A simple, ‘Love you’ or ‘Ingat’ to your sibling or partner, ‘You can do it!’ to your kiddo or ‘Thank you’ to your mom can make their day.
  2. Physical Touch. Body language or the intimacy of touch can also mean love for some. This gives them the feeling of bonding or affirmation. Make the deliberate effort to hug, wrap an arm around a family member’s shoulder, or cuddle – this can make them, and you feel good.
  3. Acts of Service. Actions speak louder than words, and this is a preferred expression of love at times. It can be as simple as doing your share of chores like cooking dinner or driving them to school or work. It doesn’t only show your love for them, but you also get things done.
  4. Receiving gifts. It’s not always about the price tag, but the thought that counts. People who prefer this love language appreciate it when someone invests to put a smile on their face. While you can buy your loved one a nice gift here and there, you can also invest in their future.
  5. Quality Time. To some people, love is spelled as t-i-m-e. They want your undivided focus. This rings especially true if you have little kids who always want your attention, so put those mobile phones down during dinner and have some QT with them.

PS – Getting insurance is also a way to express your love. When you prioritize your and your loved ones’ health, life, investment, or retirement needs, that’s PRU Love. ♥
